About Dr Monene, MB.,ChB (UCT), MMed (UP) FCPaed (SA)

Dr Monene has over 15 years of clinical experience as a medical doctor. She is a Specialist Paediatrician and a Fellow of the College of Paediatrics (FCPead) of the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa (CMSA). Dr Monene completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB.,ChB) degrees at the University of Cape Town Medical School in 2005. She then worked in Limpopo at Lebowakgomo and F.H. Odendaal hospitals, respectively, rotating mostly in paediatrics wards. 

Dr Monene completed her Paediatrics training at the University of Pretoria Medical School. Over a period of four years, she did rotations in Paediatric Departments at Steve Biko Academic Hospital, Kalafong Hospital, 1 Military Hospital, Mamelodi Hospital and Tembisa Hospital.  

Dr Monene also worked as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health at the University of Pretoria and as an Acting District Paediatrician in Tshwane for the Gauteng Department of Health.  After spending nearly ten years of dedicated medical practice in the public sector, Dr Monene moved to the private sector and established her own practice to continue providing excellence in children’s health as a Specialist Paediatrician.  

In addition to being a compassionate and dedicated Specialist Paediatrician, Dr Monene is also a loving wife and a mother to two adorable childern. Therefore needless to say, she understands children from both a medical and maternal perspective.
